Introduction

Have you ever wanted to take a trip to England? American families go to England every year, but where do they find out about what there is to do in that country? You are a travel agent. A family of four comes to you with intentions of going on a two-week summer vacation to England. As the travel agent, you have to compile information for the family as to what there is to do in England, where to stay, and how to travel. You have to plan activities for each member of the family, so get ready to research!

Task

In this webquest, you will be required to provide information for each of the members of the family on what there is to do in England. The family includes a Dad, Mom, teenage daughter, and 10-year-old son. You'll also need to provide information on the weather in England.. The family wants to stay in London, so keep in mind the prices that go along with that.

Process

THE FAMILY:

The dad is a history buff, so he wants to see the historical sites that England has to offer. He also likes to try new types of food, so you'll need to research restaurants. Though this is the yearly family vacation, he is concerned with the cost of plane tickets, hotels, food, and transportation around the country.

The mom loves to shop. She is interested in seeing famous sites in England.

The teenage daughter is interested in the beaches around England, as well as art museums to visit.

The 10-year-old son wants to take a boat trip and go to a theme park while his family is in England.

1. Knowing these characteristics of the family, you compile a packet of information.

2. The packet should include specific prices for travel, hotels, and eating out. It should also include the forecast in England for the family's planned 2-week vacation.

3. Don't forget to provide maps for the areas in England that you suggest they go.

4. Make sure the events you choose for each family member coresponds to the others.
